The unique, patented design on this rudder means no pivoting of the blade to bring to the upright position which means no "clunking" onto the deck. In the upright position, it stays aligned in the center and when it is time to deploy, you simply release the cordage and the rudder goes down on its own. Only one cord is required to pull the rudder up out of the water which also means less driling into your deck for additional hardware. If you already have foot pedals, then you might also require the cabling kit.
